Jelinek, Hanns#
b. Vienna, Dec. 5, 1901, d. Vienna, Jan. 27, 1969, composer and music theoretician (twelve-tone technique, serial music). After brief studies with F. Schmidt, A. Berg and A. Schoenberg, studied music on his own; from 1958 lecturer and from 1965 professor at the Vienna Academy of Music). 1966 awarded the Grand Austrian State Prize.
