Kappl, Tirol, municipality in the district of Landeck, alt. 1,256 m, pop. 2,478, area 97.46 km2, winter tourist centre (380,106 overnight stays), situated in the outer Paznaun valley, winter base of the federal road administration, cable railway to Diasalpe mountain (1,863 m); wood processing, small and medium-sized enterprises. Baroque parish church with Late Gothic spire, Baroque altar (1726/1727) with carved figures and frescoes (1774); parish church in Langesthei (1694); Baroque chapel at Ulmich, several chapels from the 18th /19th centuries; old "Paarhof" farmsteads on steep hillsides, waterfall on the Visnitzbach stream.
