Krieglach#
Krieglach, Styria, market town in the district of Muerzzuschlag, alt. 608 m, pop. 5,116, area 93.76 km2, situated in the Muerz Valley between Muerzzuschlag and Kindberg.- Forest supervision station, office of the regional health insurance agency (Gebietskrankenkasse), amateur shooting range, upper-level secondary school of commerce and trade; precision pipe production, electroplating industry, vehicle construction, sawmills, gravel works, summer tourism (58,208 overnight stays).- Home of the author and poet P. Rosegger, (Kluppeneggerhof farm at Alpl, Waldschule with hiking museum, Rosegger house from 1877 and Rosegger-museum), who is buried at the old cemetery. Parish church (originally from the 14th century, alterations in Late Gothic and Baroque styles) with Late Gothic western tower, Rococo interior, frescoes in the sacristy (around 1420) and on the gallery.
