Krumau am Kamp#
Krumau am Kamp, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Krems an der Donau, alt. 370 m, pop. 827, area 26.84 km2, situated in the Kamp Valley near the Thurnberg reservoir. -Krumau-Kamp storage power station (16,2 MW, built in 1953), sports and leisure-time facilities. -City layout from the 13th century; parish church (rebuilt from 1782-1789), with parts from the Middle Ages, tower (1801); castle (first documented mention in 1084, reconstructed 1977-1980), tabernacle pier (around 1700). The cadastral district of Idolsberg (alt. 430 m, first documented mention in 1164) is situated on a forested plateau above the River Kamp east of the Thurnberg reservoir, parish church (around 1600) with Baroque eastern tower, neo-Gothic high altar and Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary (around 1500); castle (16th /17th century).
