Laa, Wiener Bezirksteil#
Laa, Oberlaa and Unterlaa, two former municipalities. The uninhabited parts of Laa became part of the 10th district of Vienna in 1873, the inhabited parts followed in 1938 (definitively in 1954). Laa used to be called Laach (Middle High German "la" = marsh). - There is a Baroque parish church in Oberlaa (1746). Exploitation of a hot sulphur spring since 1965, construction of a health resort (opened in 1974) which includes a park that was created in the course of the Vienna International Gardening Fair in1974.
