Nürnberger Gesetze#
Nuremberg Laws, "Reichsbuergergesetz" (law governing citizenship in the German Reich) and the "Gesetz zum Schutz des deutschen Blutes und der deutschen Ehre" (law for the protection of German blood and honour) passed on the occasion of the party conference of the NSDAP on September 15, 1939. According to these laws, German citizenship could only be obtained by Germans themselves or by "related blood". The "Blood Protection Law" forbade German citizens to marry Jews or to have extramarital sexual intercourse with them. The Nuremberg Laws were the first step towards the almost complete extermination of Jews in the National Socialist period. After the Austrian anschluss to the German Reich they also came into effect in Austria.
