Neukirchen am Walde, Upper Austria, market town in the district of Grieskirchen, alt. 555m, pop. 1,580, 15.81 km2, southeast of the River Danube in the Sauwald region. Construction businesses, trade, summer tourism. Late-Gothic hall church with three naves and ribbed vault, Bernhardskapelle chapel (1668), Baroque high altar (1765/66) with painting by B. Altomonte (1766); pulpit around 1780.
