Pacher, Friedrich auch F. Lebenpacher#
b. around 1430-1440 in Neustift (South Tyrol; ?), d. after 1508 in Brunico/Bruneck (South Tyrol), late Gothic painter. From 1478 mentioned as painter in Bruneck records; connection with Michael Pacher (possibly related). Assisted him in his early period with the frescoes of Neustift near Brixen (Bressanone), the collegiate church of St. Paul in the Lavant valley (Carinthia) and with the altar in St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut (Upper Austria). The only signed and dated work is the panel "Taufe Christi" (1483, Frauenkirche in Munich). Frescoes and altars in the pilgrimage church of St. Korbinian in Unterassling (Pustertal valley, East Tyrol) as well as Sterzing, Neustift and Brixen are also attributed to him. His expression was more folkloristic than Michael P.'s, with a stronger emphasis on graphic elements.
