Park and Ride#

Park and Ride system, link between private motor transport (predominantly passenger cars) as "feeder" and public transport. Private cars are offered parking facilities at points of transfer. The object is a reduction of city traffic, avoiding tailbacks and reducing the shortage of parking space in agglomerations. In 1992 there were 1131 park and ride facilities in Austria with a total of 36,017 parking spaces for passenger cars und 35,268 parking spaces for bicycles and motorcycles.
