Bad Ischl (Upper Austria), July 25, 1951, ministry official, politician (Fatherland Front). 1932-1938 and 1945 head of the arts section of the Ministry of Education, 1934-1936 Staatssekretaer, 1936-1938 Federal Minister of Education, 1938-1941 in concentration camp, then in the Austrian resistance movement, 1945-1949 member of the Nationalrat, acting chairman of the Austrian People´s Party (OeVP) and chairman of the "Association of Intellectually Creative People" ("Verband geistig Schaffender").
