Peterwardein#

Peterwardein (Petrovaradin), since 1945 part of the town of Novi Sad (Serbia), on the right bank of the River Danube, from the 16th century onwards the main stronghold of the Austrian monarchy against the Ottomans. On August 5, 1716 Prince Eugène won an important battle near this fortress.
