Piesendorf#
Piesendorf, province of Salzburg, municipality in the district of Zell am See, alt. 782 m, pop. 2,997, area 50.93 km2, nucleated village at alluvial cone of the Piesendorf rift valley, houses with main parts dating from the 14th -16th centuries, Fuerth and Hummersdorf hamlets with Paarhof-type farmhouses (some elements from 16th /17th centuries). Summer and winter tourism, local and regional businesses, gravel and concrete works. - Gothic parish church, oldest part, Chapel of St. Michael (12th /13th centuries) with crypt and secco paintings (15th century), annexe (1510-1516), redecorated in Baroque style in 1718, re-gothicised in 1851-1854. St. Anthony's chapel with Baroque altar (1684).
