Pius-Verein#

Pius-Verein, society founded in 1905 in Vienna by V. Kolb to promote the Catholic press in Austria; was merged with the Volksbund der Katholiken Oesterreichs in 1919. The Pius-Verein (named after Pope Pius IX) united conservative and Christian-Social circles, financially supported the "Reichspost" newspaper and supplied news to the Catholic central and provincial press through the daily "Pius Correspondence".
