Rabenstein, Hinrichtungsstätte#

Rabenstein, place of execution in Vienna, a masonry platform with gallows, from 1747 located in Rossau (in Vienna's 9th district). There, J. G. Grasel was executed on January 31, 1818. After 1850 the place of execution was moved to Spinnerin am Kreuz (in Vienna's 10th district), the last execution was carried out there in 1868. From 1876 the death penalty was carried out in the Vienna Provincial Court.
