Studied at the University of Economics in Vienna followed by studies and work practice in Europe and America. 1981 member of the board of directors of the Wiener Holding, from 1982 of the Austrian Industries Group OeIAG; from 1986 deputy chairman of the board of directors of VOEST-Alpine AG, since 1991 chairman of the board of directors of Boehler-Uddeholm AG.
