Reißeck#

Reisseck, Carinthia, municipality in the district of Spittal an der Drau, alt. 613 m, pop. 2,475, area 139.79 km2, in the lower Moelltal valley. Reisseck has since 1973 been the collective name for the villages of Kolbnitz (Oberkolbnitz, Unterkolbnitz) and Penk ( on January 1, 1992 Muehldorf was again separated from the municipality of Reisseck); the name Reisseck does not appear on maps. - Storage power stations Reisseck-Kreuzeck (built 1950, 135.7 MW) and Malta-Hauptstufe (built 1976, 730 MW) nearby. In Kolbnitz, southeast of Danielsberg mountain (966 m), late-Gothic/Baroque parish church, northwest of Kolbnitz (am Sandbichl) Baroque chapel of the Virgin Mary (1739-1745).
