Schiffsbautechnische Versuchsanstalt#
Schiffsbautechnische Versuchsanstalt, a federally authorised ship construction research institute established in Vienna in 1912, which was destroyed during WW II and later rebuilt. In a basin measuring 180 m in length, 10 m in width and up to 5 m in depth, wax or wooden models of ships approximately 6 m long are tested for their performance. The Schiffsbautechnische Versuchsanstalt also receives commissions from abroad.
