Seusenhofer, Konrad, d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Aug. 30, 1517. Most important armourer of the Early Renaissance in Central Europe, brother of Hans Seusenhofer. First mentioned in 1500. Came to Innsbruck with his brother Hans, was made court armourer in 1504, built the armour workshop of the court (in today's Landhaus building) in 1505/06. S. continued the legacy of the Treitz family at the Innsbruck court, improved the form of the armour and the horse armour (with the collaboration of Maximilian I), produced the first armours for lansquenets and was the first to reflect motives of traditional costumes in the patterns of his armours.
