Slibar, Alfred#

b. Vienna, May 6, 1921, engineer. Studied mechanical engineering at Vienna University of Technology, where he habilitated in General Mechanics in 1952. From 1957 university professor in Stuttgart, from 1963 to 1989 at Vienna University of Technology. Specialised in rheology, vehicle dynamics, vibration theory, accident mechanics and collision analysis("Slibar fence" for use along motorways, was used on some road segments; it was not generally adopted for reasons that are not really clear).
