Strass im Strassertale, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Krems an der Donau (Bezirk), alt. 217 m, pop. 1,402, area 22.50 km2, wine-growing town at the south foot of Manhartsberg hill, east of Langenlois. - Wineries and wine taverns, barrel-making, viniculture museum, summer tourism. - Early Baroque parish church (1638-1646 and 1666) with exterior frescoes on the Loreto chapel (1666); pillory (17th century); ruins of Falkenberg fortress.
