Strafregister#

Register of Convictions, official register of all convictions of a person, is administered centrally by the Bundespolizeidirektion (federal police department) in Vienna. Information from the register of convictions is only available to public authorities. Every person with no previous convictions may apply for a certificate proving that they have a clean record. The same applies for persons whose record is subject to limited disclosure (prison sentences of up to 3 months). After a certain period of time, criminal records are cancelled from the register of convictions ( Criminal Record, Extinction of).
