Treibacher Industrie AG#

Treibacher Industrie AG, founded by C. Auer von Welsbach in 1898 as "Treibacher Chemische Werke" (Chemical Works of Treibach) in Treibach in Carinthia, since 1994 called Treibacher Industrie AG. The branches Alloymet and Powdermet produce ferro-alloys and metal-carbide materials; the company has a share in the Aktivsauerstoff GmbH (a company producing bleaching agents for detergents). The wholly-owned subsidiary Treibacher Auermet Produktions GmbH produces spark metals for lighters, composition metals, vacuum alloys, polishing agents, catalyst materials and high-tech ceramics. The sole owner of Treibacher Industrie AG is the Wienerberger Baustoffindustrie AG; turnover (1996): 2 billion ATS, 554 employees, export share: 90%.
