Udalrichinger Udalriche, Herrschergeschlecht#
Udalrichinger (Udalriche), ruling dynasty from Vorarlberg. Mentioned from 860 as rulers of the Linzgau, Argengau and Alpgau. Ruled from about 920, family seat at Bregenz. After their competitors, the Burkharde, had died out, they became the leading rulers of the area around Lake Constance (today province of Vorarlberg) in 973. In 1043, the family split into the Bregenz and Buchhorn lines, the latter died out in 1098. The estates of the last Counts of Bregenz ( Bregenzer Grafen) fell in 1150 to Count Palatine Hugo von Tuebingen, whose son named himself after Montfort.
