Valier, Max#
Valier, Max, b. Bozen/Bolzano (South Tyrol), Feb. 9, 1895, d. Berlin (Germany), May 17, 1930, pioneer of space travel, astronomer, engineer. From 1926 worked in the field of space travel. In 1928, together with Opel and F. W. Sanders built the first rocket-car, and in 1929 a rocket-sled. In 1929/30 worked on a liquid propellant rocket to power aeroplanes. Died during an experiment.
