Weingartner, Felix Edler von Münzberg#
b. Zadar, Croatia (then Zara), June 2, 1863, d. Winterthur (Switzerland), May 7, 1942. Orchestra conductor, neo-Romantic composer, music writer. Successor to G. Mahler as the director of the Court Opera of Vienna (1908-1911), 1919-1924 director of the Volksoper and 1935/36 of the State Opera. 1908-1927 director of the Vienna Philharmonic concerts; went to Switzerland in 1927.
