b. St. Martin im Innkreis (Upper Austria), April 12, 1812, d. Vienna, May 20, 1877, poet. Official with the Vienna educational publishing company, went to Salzburg in 1867; his contemporaries regarded him along with R. Hamerling as the most versatile poet of the time.
