Zwillinger, Frank Gerhard#
b. Vienna, Nov. 29, 1909, d. Garches near Paris (France), Nov. 26, 1989, poet, dramatist, scholar of German language and culture. Emigrated to East Asia in 1938 and lived in Saigon (Vietnam); joined the foreign legion; was seriously wounded in 1945 and therefore moved to France, where he became the manager of a perfume company. In his poetry (e.g. Gedichte, 3 vols., 1963), which is characterized by the use of numerous metaphors and free rhythm, he dealt with nature, the cosmos and religious subjects.
