San Laurenzo in Arequipa#

This town of narrow streets, passages, small squares and large houses is the area that most represents old Arequipa.

Arequipa is also called „la ciudad blanca“ (the white city) as the architecture of its historic center is characterized by the prominence of so-called "ashlar", a volcanic stone: white or pink, exceptionally soft, lightweight and weatherproof.
