Robert Fuchs: Serenade op.21#
Robert Fuchs (1847 Frauenthal - 1927 Vienna) was mainly known as the composer of Serenades and had the nickname Serenaden-Fuchs. His importance is more as a teacher at the Vienna Conservatory rather than as a composer. The list of his students includes some of the foremost composers of his day: Hugo Wolf, Gustav Mahler, Franz Schreker, Alexander von Zemlinsky, Franz Schmidt, Richard Heuberger und Leo Fall.
The musical example is the first movement (Romanze) of his four movement Serenade for orchestra in e minor (1878). (E. Stadler)
