Kupferzeit#
Copper Age (Chalcolithic Age), term used to denote the late phase of the New Stone Agebetween 3500 and 2300/2200 B.C. Copper Metallurgy developed in the 6th millennium B.C. in the Anatolian Caucasian region. In Austria a fragment of a cast spoon from Bisamberg hill (Lower Austria) and a piece of copper melt from Salzburg are the oldest evidence of the use of copper (copper ore processing on Goetschenberg mountain).
