Schlitters, Tirol, municipality in the district of Schwaz, alt. 547 m, pop. 1,013 (1981: pop. 937), area 10.36 km2, tourist resort (53,049 overnight stays in 1992) at the entry of the Ziller Valley. - Cheese dairy, sawmill, manufacture of knitted articles. - Originally Gothic parish church, Baroque alterations around 1740, frescoes (around 1750), bells (1524, 1730 and 1852); Einhof-type farmhouses.
