Tausig, Otto#
b. Vienna, Feb. 13, 1922, actor, producer. 1938 emigrated to the United Kingdom; after his return 1946-1948 attended the renowned Reinhardt Seminar (drama school), 1948 debut at the "Scala" in Vienna, where he acted as chief dramaturge and producer 1948-1956. 1957-1960 in Berlin, subsequently at the Schauspielhaus Zuerich, later worked independently in Germany; 1971-1983 member of the company of the Vienna Burgtheater (classical and modern parts); afterwards again in Germany, guest performances in Vienna; teacher at the Reinhardt Seminar, acted as director of Austrian and German TV productions (e.g. "Sketches" by E. Kishon). Retired from the stage in 1999. Active in the fight against poverty in developing countries.
