Turnau, Styria, market town in the district of Bruck an der Mur, alt. 755 m, pop. 1,762, area 134.26 km2, summer tourist resort (49,148 overnight stays in 1992) situated on the Stuebmingbach stream at the southeastern foot of the Hochschwab mountain. - Lanzen-Turnau airfield, bakery, soft drinks production, hand weaving, carrier, garage. - Parish church with Romanesque core and Gothic and Baroque alterations: late Gothic fresco (around 1520-1530), Rococo high altar (around 1760-1770) with altar painting by J. A. Moelk.
