UNO-City#

Vienna International Centre (VIC), located in Vienna´s 22nd district, built 1973-1979 to plans by J. Staber (won 4th prize in the 1970 international competition). The striking ground plan was inspired by the shape of the letter Y. With the completion of the VIC, Vienna became the 3rd UN headquarters ( UNO) alongside New York and Geneva. A conference centre ( Austria Center Vienna, also built by Staber) was added in 1983-1987.
