The Taj Mahal is considered to be the most beautiful building of Muslim architecture in India. The large mausoleum was built by the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, the Persian princess Arjuman Bano Begum, who was also known as Mumtaz Mahal. She died in 1631 after the birth of the fourteenth child under the age of 39 years. In the memory of his wife Shah Jahan built a magnificent tomb as a tribute to her, which seems to come from a fairy tale or a dream.
