Schon in römischer Zeit war die Stadt ein wichtiger Handelshafen, gleichsam das Tor zum Orient. Diesen Ruf hat sie sich bewahrt – bis heute.
Bari Bari, Italy - there is utter chaos, but a charming one. The 330,000-inhabitant metropolis is famous for its traffic jam, for its crime rate and for its St. Nicholas. Already in Roman times, the city was an important trading port, quasi the gateway to the Orient. It maintained this reputation - until today.
