Kolig, Anton#
b. Novy Jičín, Czech Republic (then Neutitschein), July 1, 1886, d. Noetsch (Carinthia), May 17, 1950, painter; grandfather of Cornelius Kolig. 1928-1943 taught at Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts. Founded the Noetscher Kreis and developed a monumental style of painting characterized by strong colours. Most of his work was destroyed in a bomb attack in December 1944.
