b. Graz (Styria), June 20, 1894, d. Graz (Styria), Oct. 10, 1953. Conductor and composer. Founder and director of the Vienna Women´s choir (Wiener Frauenchor), chairman of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna and the Vienna Schubert Association (Wiener Schubertbund); 1933-1938 director of the Styrian music association (Musikverein); 1935-1938 provincial music director; emigrated to Ankara in 1938; from 1946 teacher and conductor at the Mozarteum music school in Salzburg.
