Himba woman to the left and Herero woman to the right: The Himba people were never converted to Christianity and therefore, concerning clothes, still live reasonably. They rub a mixture of fat and red dust onto their skin, which protects them from the sun, cares for the skin and lends them the red colour even though they originally are darker.
Himba-Frau links und Herero-Frau rechts: Die Himbas wurden nie christianisiert und leben daher kleidungsmäßig noch immer vernünftig. Sie reiben sich mit einem Gemisch von Fett und rotem Staub ein: das schützt vor Sonne, pflegt die Haut, und verleiht ihnen, die an sich dunkler sind, die rötliche Färbung.
