Hengistburg#
Hengistburg, centre of the early-medieval Carinthian March from which developed today´s Styria. Destroyed in 1053 by the Hungarians, its exact location is one of the big unsolved puzzles of early Styrian history. Possible locations are Graz, St. Margarethen bei Lebring, the Wildoner Burgberg and St. Lorenzen am Hengsberg. There is significant evidence that the "castrum Heingist" was actually located in Hengsberg.
