Jochberg, Tirol, municipality in the district of Kitzbuehel, alt. 923 m, pop. 1,461, area 87.84 km2, winter sports resort (79,526 overnight stays) in the valley of the Jochberger Ache river, between Kitzbuehel and the Thurn Pass. - Until the beginning of the 20th century a mining town; exhibition mine "Kupferplatte" (since 1990; mining discontinued in 1926), Transalpine Oelleitung (transalpine oil line) business premises; sawmill industry, environmental technology company, marinade factory. - Baroque parish church (rebuilt 1748-1750 by K. Singer) with Gothic north tower in the main section), vault paintings by S.B. Faistenberger (1750); pilgrimage chapel in Jochberg forest (1841/1842); Baroque Taxerkapelle chapel; museum of local mining history; picturesque Haufenhof farmhouses on the east side of the valley.
