Lieding#
Lieding, Carinthia, (Weiler) small rural settlement in the district of St. Veit an der Glan, alt. 681 m, west of Strassbourg (part of town municipality) in the Gurktal valley. Documented mention 975 (granting of market rights, right of coinage and of tariffs by Emperor Otto II); Gothic parish church with Romanesque nave and western step portal (around 1200, with arch relief), chancel and square south-tower from the 14th century, hall crypt and stained glass windows (around 1340-1350, teaching Christ, various saints), high altar (1771) with offertory portals; Gothic charnel house; wake light (15th century).
