Stadion, Franz, Count von Warthausen, b. Vienna, July 27, 1806, d. Vienna, June 8, 1853, civil servant and liberal politician, son of Count Johann Philipp Stadion von Warthausen. From 1841 Governor of the Coastland (former province of Austria), 1846-1848 of Galicia, 1848/49 Interior Minister and Minister of Education, advocated constitutional government.
