Kiba#
Kiba, Kino-Betriebsges. m. b. H; limited liability company established by the Social Democratic Party in 1926; the Kiba company purchased a large number of cinemas and pursued the objective of improving film culture by introducing political and socially realistic films. It also produced its own movies for propaganda purposes. In the 1920s F. W. Rossak made what were called "workers´ films" and in 1930 Das Notizbuch des Mr. Pim (Mr Pim´s Notebook), a full-length feature film. By 1931 Kiba owned 30 cinemas with 16,000 seats. Today the company operates several cinemas in Vienna.
