Kleine Zeitung#
Kleine Zeitung, founded on November 22, 1904 as a daily of the Katholischer Pressverein ("Catholic Press Association") of the diocese of Graz-Seckau, published by the Styria publishing company. "Brought into line" with the National Socialist state on March 12, 1938, discontinued in May 1945. Re-established on May 2, 1948. First appeared weekly, from October daily. Today the Kleine Zeitung appears in two main editions in Graz and Klagenfurt. Total circulation: 280,000 (1994) Spun-off by Styria Medien AG in 1999 and turned into an independent company. Total circulation in 1998: 290,000.
