Witzmann, Carl#
b. Vienna, Sept. 26, 1883, d. Vienna, Aug. 30, 1952, architect. After his apprenticeship with a cabinet-maker, attended the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts (precursor of the Vienna College of Arts). Disciple of J. Hoffmann, for whom he worked at the "Wiener Werkstaette" (artists' co-operative). Lectured at the School of Arts and Crafts from1908; Professor of furniture design from 1910. Worked as an architect, interior designer and exhibition organiser.
