Wranitzky, Anton#
b. Novà Řísě, Czech Republic (then Neureisch), June 13, 1761, d. Vienna, Aug. 6, 1820, composer, violinist. Brother of Paul Wranitzky. Lived in Vienna from 1783; pupil of W. A. Mozart, J. Haydn and J. G. Albrechtsberger; 1797 conductor of Prince Lobkowitz's orchestra; orchestral director at the Vienna Court Theatres from 1807; 1814 director of the Vienna Theater an der Wien.
