Libro AG#
Libro AG, Austria's largest marketing chain for books, paper goods, music, CD-ROMs and videos, founded by K. Wlaschek in 1978 as part of his group of companies, grew to a total of 42 branch outlets in a matter of ten years. Unlike the Billa Group, Libro AG was not sold to the REWE group in 1997 but was spun off and taken over by a financial consortium and has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange since 1999. For the 1998/99 business year, Libro AG, with more than 250 branches (including, since 1998, Amadeus company acquired from Landesverlag Holding Ges. m. b. H.) reported net sales in the order of ATS 4.3 billion.
