Sacher, Hotel#

Hotel behind the Vienna State Opera, opened in 1876 by Eduard Sacher as "maison meublee", the management by Anna Sacher was of special importance; now owned by the Guertler family. The Hotel Sacher is renowned for its "Original-Sachertorte" (a chocolate cake covered with apricot jam and chocolate icing, usually served with whipped cream) and its collection of 19th  century art. The company also owns the "Oesterreichischer Hof" hotel in the city of Salzburg.
