Schöngrabern#
Schoengrabern, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Hollabrunn, alt. 251 m, north of Hollabrunn, in the Weinviertel region; cadastral district of the market town of Grabern. Late-Romanesque parish church (around 1210-1230), semi-circular apse with stylistically and iconographically unique reliefs (themes from the history of salvation, zoomorphic figures). Initially assumed to be of Romanesque origin, now disputed; the sculptures may date from the 16th century, some from the 14th century. Gothic murals (around 1330 and 1350) in the interior.
